  3. New Animated Pack Opening

    New animated pack opening is now in the Arena in our latest update.

In this round of changes we’ve add new animations to the opening of packs, added two new player cards, added a new card type, changed the levels of some players and introduced new social features: New Improved Pack Opening New animations have been added that add to the excitement of opening a player pack. Two New Player Cards Two new cards have been introduced to the Arena, The Don and The French Prince. The Don is a goal scoring attacking midfielder and is available in Arena 1. The French Prince is a speedy forward with an eye for goal and is available in Arena 2. New Legacy Card A new card type, Legacy, has been added to the game. The Magic Dwarf and Architect are now Legacy cards. Legacy cards will not be available in the Shop and they cannot be unlocked in Player Packs. If you currently own the cards, you can still upgrade them if you have enough XP. Change in Player Levels The way we approach a change in player levels is a combination of listening to our community, testing and looking at the stats. This helps us keep the game balanced. The following six players are having a change in card level: Torpedo: Superb —> Elite Street Fighter: Superb —> Good Little Assasin: Superb —> Good Maestro: Good —> Superb Kannonball: Good —> Superb La Joya: Good —> Superb The following changes occur when a players card level changes: Good to Superb loses 2 levels; Superb to Good gains 2 levels; Super to Elite loses 3 levels; Elite to Superb gains 3 levels. In this round of changes we've introduced Kits as well as made several improvements to the matchay experience: Club Kits Make your Club stand out in the Arena by purchasing a selection of Kits from the Shop. The Arena When a goal is scored it is now displayed in the Club's colours. The Shooting attribute is now displayed when taking a shot. When you enter Challenge Mode the players names aren't displayed, making it easier to see the action. The positioning of the goalkeeper has been improved. Social You can now easily connect to both our Facebook and twitter pages via Settings. It now displays how many of your friends are currently online within your League.     We are carrying out some quick maintenance on our servers. You won't be able to access the Arena during this time. We will let you know once you can enter the Arena again.
  10. No love for Pc users?

    Steam won't let you connect your account to Facebook. That is why there is no friend inviter on their platform. The free pack is an incentive to connect your account and then get your friends involved. If you have a tablet or smartphone you should be able to link your Steam to the app. So you could claim it that way (of course that's if you're on Facebook).
  11. In this round of changes we've made changes to the matchday experience to add an extra element of strategy to it: Tactics You can now select two substitutes. The Arena Every player has 5 levels of energy during a match. Every time a player successfully wins a challenge their energy decreases. A player's energy level impacts on their attributes. During the match you can make substitutions and tactical changes. These can be triggered when your goalkeeper has the ball, at kick off or when your opponent is making a substitution. The number of times you can trigger a change depends on your Manager Level. There is now a limit on the number of times you can use a player's Special Ability. This depends on your Manager Level. A Shoot Button has been introduced. The button grows to indicate your player is in a better shooting position. Bugs Multiple bugs that our community have reported from the Arena have been fixed.     I'm sorry to hear this Eddie. If you report this as an in-game bug or even email arena@soccermanager.com our support team will be able to look into this and find out what's happened.

  17. This ISSUE is killing the game

    We've been carrying out work on our servers for the past two days and trying to keep the disruption to a minimum. This should result in a better experience for all involved and stop any issues like the one you've flagged up.

Soccer Manager Arena is a fast paced, PVP, real time football game, where you compete against others from across the globe. As you win trophies, you unlock new levels and gain access to different iconic arenas and other elite players with different special abilities. You can form a league with friends or others from around the world, share XP and help improve each other’s players whilst leading your team to victory. Before the rest of the world enter the Arena, we would like to thank all of our Beta testers. Your feedback has been invaluable in shaping the development of the game. Get ready to enter the Arena!
  22. The new match engine has introduced Resolution Points into the game. These are points in a match when critical actions take place and will require additional user input to affect the outcome of the event. Abilities can be used to influence each Resolution Point to increase the chances of the outcome being in your favour, if you have the right players. PASSING There are two ways to pass. To pass to a team-mate tap on the player you want to pass the ball to. Your player will then attempt to pass the ball to them. To pass into space, swipe the player who has the ball in the direction you want them to pass. Your player will then attempt to pass the ball into the available space. SHOT MODE When triggered, the shooting range will display and you will have a limited time to stop the arrow on the 'sweet spot' for the perfect strike! The green zones represent the 'sweet spot'. Press the Shoot button to stop the arrow. Where the arrow is stopped is where the shot will aim and indicate how powerful the shot is. Although the range is dynamic and will be influenced by factors in the game so every attempt at goal will be different. There is a limited time to take your shot, the countdown showing as a reducing highlight around the Shoot button. Once expired the player will take the shot automatically. The speed the arrow moves will be influenced by the pressure the shot taker is under from the opposition players. Players with better shooting skills will have bigger 'sweet spot' and have more powerful shots even if you don't quite hit the 'sweet spot'. Shot mode can be triggered by: Swipe: Swipe from the player in possession of the ball through the goal when in the opposition half. Shooting abilities will still display and can be triggered on the fly, if you find you have the time. The ability could be wasted if you misjudge the decision. Ability: Ability Shots are triggered by tapping the ability option in the bottom left of the screen. Available abilities will show when the player is in possession of the ball in the opposition half. Shooting abilities can be used to perform shots with additional power and accuracy Makes it much more difficult for the opposition keeper to save. Shooting Abilities available: Power Shot Rocket Shot Accurate Shot DEFENDING SHOT MODE Shots can be blocked by defenders who stand between the striker and the goal. And pressure can be put on the shot taker by getting defenders close. Once your opponent has triggered shot mode you will see a timer in the top right and an arrow swinging at the strikers feet. As the defending team you will be put in control of the Goalkeeper which will allow you to use the Goalkeeping Abilities if they have them. Goalkeeping Abilities available: Goalkeeper Boost Charge CHALLENGE MODE. Challenge Mode can be triggered anywhere on the pitch, instigated by the defensive team. Tap on the opposition player you want to tackle and when your player gets within tackling distance to the player in possession of the ball, a Challenge Mode will start. The Challenge Mode bar will display showing a number on either side. This is the combined value of the player stats that influence a player's ability to win a Challenge. It's a race to the middle, the speed the bar fills is dependent on the value shown for the player - the higher the value the faster the fill rate. Abilities can be used to boost the total value and tilt the outcome in your favour.   23. Soccer Manager Arena is currently in Open Beta. During this phase of development numerous changes will be made to the game based on collated data as well as your feedback. You can expect regular updates leading up to the full release of the game. In this round of changes we've made several changes to the matchday experience, added Player Roles and introduced League Packs to name but a few: The Arena We have made several changes to the matchday experience to add an element of strategy to it and make player attributes and special abilities more prominent. We highly recommend replaying the tutorial and also read a more in-depth article here. This is because the buttons have been removed and it is now all touch a player to pass, touch their player to tackle etc. A new matchmaking process has been introduced making faster and cleaner connections. Every Player Card has now been allocated a specific role within the Arena. This will give you more to think about when selecting your players and tactics prior to entering the Arena! Read about the player roles here. Leagues Clubs have been renamed to Leagues. A new reward pack, League Pack, has been introduced. The new League Pack is a shared Goal Pack which the entire League can contribute Goals to. Tactics Three filters have been added to the Tactics page. These filters will make it easier for you to manage your Player Card collection as well as selecting your team for the Arena. Read about Player Card Filters here. Replays Relive your greatest victories in the Arena by watching Replays. Want your teammates to bask in your glory? Then share your Replay with your League. Visit Match Replays to view others Clubs games from the Arena. Season Trophies Every Monday Clubs above 4000 Trophies will be reset to 4000 and all deducted Trophies will be awarded as pernament Season Trophies within their Profile.   24. In the next update there will be three filters added to the Tactics page. The first filter will allow you to sort your Player Cards by Position, Card Level or Arena. The second filter will allow to view all of your Players Cards by specific position - Goalkeepers, Defenders, Midfielders, Forwards or View All. The third filter will allow you to switch between a General View of the Player Cards or a Statistics view. These filters will make it easier for you to manage your Player Card collection as well as selecting your team for the Arena. Please leave your thoughts and feedback within General Discussion.   25. In the next update every Player Card will be allocated a specific role within the Arena: Keeper The last line of defence. It’s his job to keep the ball out of the back of the net. Defender An out and out defender. Stays at the back and just does his job of defending! Ball Playing Def A more refined defender who also looks to play football and get forward. Be careful though he may look to get forward too much and leave you exposed at the back! Defensive Mid A midfielder whose primary job is to stop the opposition. He closes down players quickly and attempts to start moves from deep. Attacking Mid A midfielder who looks to attack and help the forwards, surging runs are his specialty. Don’t expect him to do much defending though! Winger A forward or midfielder who looks to play wide, make wide runs and dribble wide. The wings are his domain and defending is for others to worry about! Deep Lying Forward A forward who will drop deeper to link play up and always comes towards a pass. They’re still a forward though and love to score! Target Man A strong forward who will keep the ball and hold off defenders, until they can shoot or pass the ball. Very effective when used in the right hands! Forward A player that will always look to stretch the opposition and get on the end of long passes or through balls. Loves to find space beyond the defence and score goals. This will give you more to think about when selecting your players and tactics prior to entering the Arena!
